Must complete and successfully pass a P.O.S.T. dispatcher background investigation, medical examination and psychological assessment. Possession of or ability to successfully complete the initial P.O.S.T. Certified Dispatcher course within the first six months of employment. Must type a minimum of 35 words a minute from clear copy.   • Typing Certificate (Must attach a certificate verifying typing speed of 35 (net) words per minute on a 5 minute timed test at the time the application is submitted. Typing certificates will only be accepted from business organizations/institutions that verify completion of a 5-minute timed writing, state gross words per minute, number of errors, and indicate a minimum of 35 (net) words per minute. Internet and high school typing tests will not be accepted.)
