The Public Relations Coordinator collects, develops, produces, and coordinates a program of internal and external communication and public relations to enhance community awareness, knowledge, understanding, and interest in the educational programs offered by the Porterville Unified School District.

1. High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by coursework in communications, journalism, media relations, or related field. Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred. 2. Minimum of three years of professional experience in a communication-related field, including marketing, journalism, and other related work; OR 3. Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge, skills and abilities required. 4. Experience in an educational setting or government agency preferred. 5. Experience and proficiency in managing social media platforms, marketing, digital communication tools, and other technology for professional purposes. 6. Experience in handling crisis communications preferred. 7. Multicultural competence and the ability to communicate in English and Spanish, preferred. Driving record must satisfy school district insurance and other district and state requirements.
