The first GTA charter, Mare Island Technology Academy Middle and High Schools was founded in 2001, later adding Griffin Academy Middle and High Schools in 2018. The Certified Wellness Coach ll (CWC ll) is a state-certified profession established by California’s Department of Health Access and Information (HCAI) as part of the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative. The role of the CWC ll is to offer non-clinical services that support youth behavioral health and well-being. Behavioral health and related services performed may include: Wellness promotion and education Screening Care Coordination Individual and group support Crisis referral The CWC ll works under the direction of the Wellness Coordinator and Site Admin and is intended to support students in skills training, repetition, and practicing skills that are learned in higher-level care and under the supervision of qualified individuals. The CWC ll will offer mental health and wellness services to students individually and/or in small groups. Additionally, The Wellness Coach ll will support the School Counselors in providing classroom-based social emotional learning (SEL) to all students along a Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS). As directed, the Wellness Coach ll will support as needed with projects and events related to Wellness for Staff, Students and Families..

WC ll Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Human Services, Addiction Studies, Child Development/Early Intervention, psychology or Sociology or similar. Minimum one-year prior experience working in an educational setting or other youth-oriented program desired. Opportunity to earn hours towards PPS credential.

Position start and end date: September 25, 2024 - June 13, 2025 DOJ Livescan required prior to employment TB test required prior to employment
