Altus Schools Charter School of San Diego (CSSD), part of the Altus affiliated schools, is a nonprofit, state-funded public charter school serving students in grades 6-12. Offering a dynamic alternative to the traditional school setting, CSSD is dedicated to putting students first by focusing on academic achievement, educational innovation, and improving the quality of life for students, their families, and their communities. Our approach redefines how teachers teach and students learn, with a strong emphasis on personalized, blended learning. At CSSD, teachers manage a roster of approximately 40 students, allowing them to work individually with each student across the curriculum. This structure ensures that our educators have the time and resources to provide tailored support and guidance to every student, fostering a deeper connection and understanding of each learner's unique needs. Active California preliminary or clear Single- or Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential CLAD Certification/ ELA 1 Authorization Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation required Pass a work styles/ behavior survey and math assessment Clear background check by the Department of Justice and FBI TB Clearance

Selection Procedure: Selected applicants will first complete a work-styles/behavioral survey and a math assessment. Candidates who successfully pass this initial phase will advance to an interview with a panel of School Administrators. Those who excel in this stage will move on to a final interview with the Deputy Superintendent of School Services and Founding Director and the Superintendent of School Services and Founder. We do not invite all applicants to interview. We do not hire everyone who applies, and we do not discuss our hiring decisions with applicants.

Compensation and Benefits:
Employees are eligible for coverage beginning the first day of the month following sixty (60) days of employment. The benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, chiropractic, and life insurance, and a variety of employee-paid voluntary benefits. The benefits are 100% employer-paid for the employee and all eligible dependents!
This position contributes to CalSTRS retirement.
