THE POSITION: Under the general direction of an assigned supervisor, provides major oral and written translations from English to Vietnamese and/or from Vietnamese to English; assists in screening the oral and written language skills of students and applicants for bilingual/bi-literate positions. Work hours are generally 7:30 am – 4:30 pm daily; however, it is the nature of this position to have flexible hours. There are home visits, night meetings and mileage to be considered.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination equivalent to an Associate of Arts degree and at least two years of experience in translating and interpreting school-related materials. A valid California Driver's License and a reliable vehicle available for personal use in the performance of the duties and responsibilities assigned to this classification.
