Job Summary
A theater technician’s role is to run the lighting and sound components of theatrical performances, ensuring everything runs smoothly and at the right times. As a theater technician, your job duties are to set up equipment prior to shows, operate sound and lighting equipment during performances, and break down equipment at the end of shows. Make sure the equipment setup is safe for actors, presenters, and other technicians to be around. Education and Experience Guidelines - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by coursework or training in theater operations, performing arts, or a related field. Some experience working in a theatrical environment and bilingual skills are desirable The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have good attendance and a friendly demeanor, and align with the District's core values of honesty, integrity and respect.
