Oak Grove School District has a total student enrollment of approximately 8,800 students from grades TK-8. We have 18 school campuses along with a TK-8 Virtual Learning Academy (VLA). Six out of eighteen schools receive Title I funds. The size of the schools range from approximately 730 students to 270 students. The percentage of English Learners is 29% representing 56 languages spoken in the District. Oak Grove School District’s focus is driven by the LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) and school site-specific SPSA (Single Plan for Student Achievement) which identifies short, intermediate, and long-term goals. Under the direction of the Director of Elementary Education, the Academic Tier 2 Intervention Teacher provides intervention in reading, writing, listening, and speaking for students in grades K-6. The Academic Tier 2 Intervention Teacher provides a balanced approach to reading, writing, and language acquisition (phonemic awareness, phonics, attention to print detail, word work, oral language development, academic vocabulary, comprehension strategies, fluency, etc.) through individual or small group, direct instruction for at-risk students in grades K-6 principally supporting unduplicated pupils. This job reports to the Site Administrator. This position is a 1 year term, supporting the Rising Stars student group as part of the CIM for CCEIS action plan. The Literacy Intervention Specialist will spend .5 of the week at Christopher and .5 at Edenvale
