Position: Classroom Teacher
FLSA: Exempt
Reports To: Site Principal
Pay Grade: Certificated Salary Schedule
SUMMARY
To help students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible adults.
ESSENTIAL TYPES OF DUTIES (Examples)
· Seeks to reach District standards as established in the designated curricular areas as adopted by the Governing Board as they relate to all pupils for which the teacher is directly responsible.
· Performs co-curricular and/or adjunct duties as assigned by the Governing Board, Superintendent and/or other designated persons.
· Maintains proper disciplinary control of pupils which are directly assigned and secondarily maintains proper control of all pupils in the Clovis Unified School District. Teachers shall enforce all rules governing the conduct of pupils, as such rules may be prescribed by the Education Code, Title 5, The Governing Board, and the District and school administrators.
· Provides a suitable learning environment for the academic and social development of all students within the guidance as established by the Governing Board, Superintendent, and designated administrator, adhering to the concept that the safety and welfare of our students is paramount at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess or be eligible for appropriate California classroom credential.

Applicants must hold a 30-day SUB Permit OR a California Teaching Credential to work as a Substitute Teacher.
The Substitute Teacher requirement can be met by obtaining one of the following: - Teaching credential - 30-day substitute permit - Teaching permit for Prospective Teachers If you do not have a credential or permit, please visit https://www.cusd.com/Substitutes.aspx for more information. The following must be attached to your Substitute Teacher application in order to be selected for an interview. - 30-day sub permit or credential - Transcripts with confer date OR (90 units, only accepted with Prospective permit attached). - Current Resume - One letter of recommendation from a Professional/Educational Field (must be dated within 18 months of application date). - Please attach documents as a PDF. - Cell phone - Photo copies of documents are not accepted. Please note: If you do not have a sub permit or credential, your application will not be considered.
