Job Summary
Central Union High School District is looking for a caring, student-centered, highly motivated individual who will work with our special education population to help accomplish the district's mission of preparing students for college and/or career. The position requires high school graduation or G.E.D. equivalent, any training, education and/or experience equivalent to an associate's degree and 1 year experience working with school aged children and pass a the district's local academic assessment that demonstrates knowledge and ability to assist in teaching high school level content. The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English/Spanish), have initiative, good attendance and align with our core values of Honesty, Integrity and Respect. Under general direction of the Director of Special Education, supports the classroom teacher and staff by reinforcing instruction to individuals or small groups, assists and supports staff in observing, monitoring and collecting data on behaviors targeted for intervention; performs a variety of specialized learning techniques, communication strategies, and applied behavioral activities or techniques pertaining to the instruction of special and regular education students; assists in modeling the use of positive behavior supports and intervention techniques for other staff; performs related work, as directed.
