TRAINING &EXPERIENCE:

• Must have the ability to organize and provide leadership for the participants in a responsible and professional manner
• Must have reasonable knowledge of the advertised sport and functions
• Knowledge of the psychology of the adolescent
• Must have the experience and ability to work in a cooperative and harmonious manner with other school personnel

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be willing to meet the demands of time and commitment necessary to maintain a quality sports program
• Must possess CIF Coaching Certification “Fundamentals of Coaching” - Other required certifications dependent and specific to sport
• Must possess valid CPR and First Aid certification prior to the start of the season
• Must meet transportation requirements for driving on district business

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• The following tasks are essential for this position. Incumbents in this classification may not perform all of these tasks, or may perform similar related tasks not listed here.
• Work under the supervision of the Athletic Director and the immediate direction of the Principal
• Recruit and assemble annually a team from the student body
• Develop and implement tryout standards
• Collaborate with the members and the administration on guidelines for participation
• Coordinate practice schedules with the Athletic Director
• Be financially accountable for all receipts and expenditures of money
• Responsible for securing equipment and facilities used for practice
• Require students to adhere to Riverbank Unified School District rules and regulations
• Assist in the coordination and supervision of the transportation of teams to and from all areas of participation
• Assist with the arrangements for individual team award ceremonies
• Promote the participation of the team in workshops

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Requires the mobility to stand, stoop, reach, and bend. Requires mobility of arms to reach and dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate small objects.
• Requires the ability to stand for long periods.
• Requires the ability to walk long distances.
• Performs lifting, pushing, and/or pulling which does not exceed 50 pounds and is an infrequent aspect of the job.
• Is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
