Competent Learning Module ("CLM") 7.5% Premium Pay

The District and CSEA would like to provide you with the opportunity to receive 7.5% premium compensation to work in the Competent Learning Module (CLM) program assisting students with autism or other significant learning challenges. 
 
The District will determine if a regular Instructional Assistant-Special Needs (IASN) request to work in the CLM classroom is approved it will be based on the needs of the program. If selected by the District, the placement of a regular employee in a CLM classroom is voluntary.
 
Those qualifying that complete the transfer process will be considered by the Special Education Department for assignment to a CLM classroom. Instructional Assistant-Special Needs employees assigned to CLM Classrooms are required to complete an extensive training program as follows: 
 
The effectiveness of the CLM program for students with autism and other significant learning challenges is dependent on a structured training model for the Classified support staff in the CLM classroom.
 
 The District recognizes that it is not practical to complete some required training during normal working hours.
 
The pre-approved bank of extra pay hours (non-overtime) to complete required training over a two (2) years period outside of normal assigned hours is: 

  • 50 hours--Year 1 (includes on line and checkout time).
  • 50 hours-- Year 2 (includes on line and checkout time). 
  • 20 hours per year is allocated for classroom activity preparation outside of normal assigned hours.

The District may administratively transfer regular (probationary/permanent) employees who are in IASN-CLM positions to other IASN positions in the District if necessary based on the needs of the CLM program. The addition compensation differential only applies to IASN who are currently assigned to CLM classroom positions.
