JOB DESCRIPTION:
To teach a group of students on a temporary basis while the resident teacher is absent, in accordance with the goals and directives of the resident teacher, school and District.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Credential and/or License: Appropriate California teaching credential.
Experience:
Demonstrated success in working with children in the K-8 age range.
Knowledge and Abilities:
1. The ability to follow oral and written directions.
2. The ability to demonstrate effective classroom management strategies.
3. The ability to follow the resident teacher’s lesson plans.
4. The ability to address students’ various learning styles.
5. The ability to create and maintain a climate of respect and fairness for all students.
6. The ability to demonstrate fair and ethical judgments.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Arrive at the assigned school at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the school day.
2. Report to the site principal or school secretary.
3. Carry out the duties assigned to the resident teacher.
4. Follow the teacher’s lesson plans as well as the classroom and school-wide behavioral programs.
5. Correct, when possible, work done by students during the day.
6. Adhere to the CUSD and school policies/curriculum.
7. Ensure adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
8. Maintain and respect the confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
9. Communicate with the resident teacher concerning the experience of the day.
10. Check out at the school office at the end of the day.

Site Principal.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District's policies and procedures.
