Comments and Other Information
The Army and Navy Academy (the “Academy”) is a college-preparatory military boarding school for young men. It is one of just a handful of all-boys military schools in the United States, and it enjoys a 106-year rich history of educating, mentoring, and developing good character and leadership in young men. In addition to high standards of academic, athletic and military leadership programs, the Academy builds virtuous young men. Our leadership training is grounded in moral values to produce men who not only do well but live well. We are not the outdated, popular culture version of a military boarding school. Parents and boys conclude that other public and private school options do not meet their needs and choose The Academy for the transformational experience it presents. All of this is delivered by a committed and passionate faculty and staff on a spectacular beachfront campus in Northern San Diego County, CA. The Academy also offers a popular and robust non-military Summer Program.
The unique educational opportunity of the Academy is its blend of a boy-focused education system that infuses both a military component and boarding school component. We do not operate in this manner because of historical preservation, we do it in the belief it produces the best results for our young men. That being said, most of our graduates do not move directly into a military career— 97% move on to college or university. Strong academics coupled with our proud Army and Navy Academy military focus result in a transformational experience — boys become confident, thoughtful, and virtuous young men. Academics, leadership, and character development form the “whole cloth” of the Academy experience. For more information on The Academy, visit our website at www.armyandnavyacademy.org.
