I. PLAYGROUND SUPERVISOR II. III. Definition IV. V. Under general supervision, to oversee students and maintain order on school playgrounds, lunch areas, and other areas designated by the school principal. Playground Supervisor's are responsible for taking minor disciplinary action against students when necessary and for reporting names of students who are discipline problems to the school principal or his/her designee. Playground supervisors may be responsible for administering first aid to students and for reporting all injuries to the principal or his/her designee. VI. VII. Responsible to VIII. IX. School Principal or Designee X. XI. Examples of Duties 1. Supervise students on the playground, at lunch areas, in classrooms and on campus as directed by the principal. 2. Enforce playground, lunch area, and campus behavior standards. 3. Organize and supervise playground activities. 4. Acknowledge and reinforce desirable student behavior. 5. Report on appropriate referral form(s) special behavioral problems to school principal or his/her designee. XII. Qualifications Guide XIII. XIV. Knowledge of: 1. Basic knowledge of student games and their rules. 2. Basic first aid. XV. Ability to: 1. Demonstrate dependability and reliability. 2. Positively influence children’s behavior and standards of conduct. 5. Be firm, fair and consistent in dealing with student behavior problems. 6. To be a positive role model for students. 7. Requirements / Qualifications

TRAINING, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High School degree or recognized equivalent; no direct experience is required. Basic first aid knowledge is also a requirement. A completed on-line application is required in order to be considered for the opening. After submitting a completed application there is a MANDATORY written test for this classification on Wednesday's 9 a.m., at the District Office in the Human Resources Department, at 321 Iowa Street, Fallbrook, CA 92028. YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED IF TESTING IS NOT COMPLETED.

This position is open to all qualified candidates. Under general supervision, to direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow to ensure safe street crossings for students; to monitor student activity on the playground before school, during lunch, or after school. Responsible for taking minor disciplinary action against students when necessary and for reporting names of students who are discipline problems to the school principal or his/her designee. Student Safety Monitors may be responsible for administering first aid to students and for reporting all injuries to the principal or his/her designee.
