GENERAL INFORMATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: The Early Childhood Education Special Education Teacher is to provide developmental assessment through a team approach, to establish eligibility for children aged Birth to three (3) years, work with infant, toddlers and their families towards goals of achieving family’s desired outcomes for their child with disabilities. A strong knowledge base of teaching strategies for young children and other strategies such as parent coaching, discussion and reflective practice with families and other professionals. It is essential to be able to communicate and team within NIPP and other community agencies in the early intervention community. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• This position requires an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher Credential and it is preferred to have a Master’s Degree.

• Requires two years teaching in the field of ECSE or child development.

• Requires a working knowledge of personal computer and multimedia equipment operations including common office productivity software, internet, and computer-aided teaching programs.

• Requires well-developed oral communications skills to convey concepts to a variety of people and an essential element is to work cooperatively with a diverse population of children and parents.

• Requires Experience with integrated therapy and successful parent coaching/collaboration.
