General Description
Under the supervision of the Manager, Infrastructure and Security, provides user support to assist information technology end-users based in District Center locations; assures that information technology needs of district staff are met in a professional and timely manner; performs evaluation and testing of application programs, computer and audio/visual hardware prior to installation; provides advice and guidance to faculty and departments in technology selection decisions; provides training to college employees as directed; assists in the maintenance of network accounts and system resources with direction from Network Analysts and System Administrators; assists in the support and troubleshooting of audio/visual, network, and server equipment with direction from Media Services Staff; performs a variety of skilled and technical duties related to the installation, configuration, maintenance and repair of District End-User Technology.
District End-User Technology is herein defined as any “up-to-the-wall” District purchased technology, software, or hardware that integrates with networks, servers, systems, or applications AND which employees use to perform their work functions, or students use to complete educational objectives. These may include, but are not limited to: computers, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, audio/visual components, laptops carts, smart carts, hyflex carts, voice communication devices, wireless endpoint devices, wired or wireless network connected devices, printers, scanners, peripheral equipment, equipment mounting components, wire management, and any end-user operating systems (Windows, MacOS, iPadOS, iOS, Android, ChromeOS, etc), software applications, drivers, scripts, or configuration settings that are used in conjunction with these devices. This definition does not encompass wiring or infrastructure “in the wall” or devices that operate “behind the wall” in IDFs, MDFs, server rooms, server cabinets, or network cabinets.
This position is assigned to the Hanford campus. The working hours are 7:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m., Monday-Friday, initial salary placement is at $75,858.

Job Duties
• Coordinates and assumes technical leadership of projects and other assignments requiring a high level of responsibility and independence.
• Assists with training and direction to department staff to support the objective of the position.
• Consults with various departments to determine current and future technical needs.
• Participates in the planning, administration and maintenance of technical functions and matters related to multi-vendor equipment, software, and District End-User Technology.
• Performs user help desk functions, operations, record-keeping, documentation, and communication to log and track resolution of issues, problems, and requests.
• Delivers various workshops and training sessions related to the use of District End-User Technology to employees and students over the phone, in chat, through email or other written means, at their work location, and in one-on-one, small group, and classroom training environments.
• Maintains a current and accurate inventory of District End-User Technology and other IT fixed assets.
• Recommends the purchase of new and replacement District End-User Technology.
• Installs, supports, modifies, and maintains District End-User Technology. Where applicable, installs, maintains, and updates District End-User Technology in accordance with state and local building codes, safety regulations, and OSHA requirements under guidance and support of District Safety Inspector, Facilities and Human Resources.
• Ensure proper operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and security of District End-User Technology to provide technology resources for District faculty, staff, and students.
• Schedules repairs and completes warranty claims as necessary; requests and stores spare and replacement parts.
• Assists and coordinates the checkout of District End-User Technology to District faculty and staff.
• Assists and coordinates equipment moves of District End-User Technology.
• Connects District End-User Technology to networks and systems, including cabling, NIC installation, and network protocol configuration.
• Tests software performance and conformance to District policies prior to releasing new applications for District End-User Technology use.
• Provides end-user assistance and support for district applications and services that have been designed, approved, and are documented for use on personal devices.
• Assist with operating testing and measurement devices, diagnostic software, and other specialized instruments used in the repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network equipment, batteries, wireless, and wired connections with direction from Network Analyst.
• Assist with installing, supporting, troubleshooting, and configuring voice communication devices, call queues, end user and department extension settings with direction from Network Analyst.
• Assist with operating, maintaining, and supporting software and tools used to manage District End-User Technology which includes, but is not limited to managing District owned physical and virtual endpoint device environments, mobile devices, client operating system management tools (Active Directory, Azure, Entra, 365, SCCM, PDQ, Intune, Jamf, Google Apps, etc.), endpoint security software, printers, and software licensing services with direction from Systems Administrator.
• Assist in the maintenance of user accounts on District networks and systems services with direction from Systems Administrator.
• Assist in the repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of servers, peripherals, batteries, and other server room equipment with direction from Systems Administrator.
• Assist in the repair, troubleshooting, and maintain audio/visual related District End-User Technology with direction from Media Services Staff.
• Assist with audio/visual equipment needs for special events with direction from Media Services Staff.
• Participates in District provided training involving the operation, use, and support of District End-User Technology
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination equivalent to:
• The position requires an associate degree in computer science or related technical field and six years of experience in network and systems operations and analytics, with two years in project development and implementation, and ongoing administration of integrated networks.

• Any combination of education and experience which provides the required equivalent qualifications for the position.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
• Valid California's driver's license
• An incumbent must be insurable at the “standard rate” by the employer's insurance carrier at all times while employed in this classification by the College of the Sequoias Community College District.

• Commonly used and industry standard end-user software applications that include, but are not limited to Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, common web browsers, and Acrobat Reader.
• Principles and methods of deploying commercial software packages at scale. This includes but is not limited to scripted and silent software deployment, licensing services, platform management tools, and PowerShell.
• Issue tracking, documentation, and project management software, services, and methods.
