Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Health Services Manager, works in coordination with Health Aide Lead and in consultation with appropriate healthcare providers, the Nurse on Special Assignment uses clinical expertise and professional judgment to support the health services program for the District. This program promotes the goal of ensuring that all students may receive optimal health and safety benefits from their educational experience. This is accomplished by working collaboratively with students, families, health aides, athletic trainers, administrators, teachers, staff, and other members of a multidisciplinary school team. The Nurse on Special Assignment will partner with outside agencies to promote access to health services and programs and support school-wide health screenings, trainings and promotions. The Nurse on Special Assignment will support health services by utilizing resources within the District and community to meet the physical, mental, emotional and social health needs of a diverse population of students.
