The Southern Humboldt Joint Unified School District crosses two counties, Mendocino and Humboldt, in the heart of the redwoods, extending from remote, mountain areas, to the Eel and Mattole River valleys, to Kings Range and out to the Lost Coast of the Pacific Ocean. The school district encompasses an area of approximately 773 square miles. Job Summary

Under the general direction of the School District Superintendent. The community schools Coordinator (CSC) is responsible for facilitating the process of transforming schools into an ideal community school model. The CSC wll create and sustain clear lines of communication with all educational partners including the District Office leadership staff. Additionally, they will serve as an integral member of the school leadership team, and support with coordination of programs and services to improve academic and social-emotional outcomes for students. The CSC will collaborate with site staff, monitor program quality and impact by using a data and results driven approach.

Experience: ? At least 2 years experience in a supervisory/management-level position; operating one or more programs in a non-profit, education, or school environment ? Proven track record in achieving results in working in youth development, academic enrichment and/or family support programs. A minimum of 1-2 years experience collecting, inputting, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to drive program results, strongly preferred ? Working with and leading community partnerships; familiarity working with similar population as service area ? Working with individuals of diverse ethnic backgrounds Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 3 years minimum experience in community, social/human service, public school system, and/or volunteer work. Commensurate work experience in community development, education, social/human service, public school system, and/or volunteer work in the field may substitute for education requirements.
