Job Summary
The Public Information Officer plans, develops, and implements a program of internal and external communication and public relations to enhance community awareness, knowledge, understanding, and interest in the educational programs offered by the Porterville Unified School District and provides associated event planning and coordination.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, public relations, marketing, behavioral science, journalism, mass communications, broadcasting or related discipline; OR Minimum of three years of professional experience in a communication-related field, including experience using social media and other technology for professional purposes, desktop publishing, videography; OR Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge, skills and abilities required. Master’s degree in communications, public administration, educational leadership, or a related field, preferred. See Job Description for other requirements and preferred elements. Must possess and maintain a valid CA driver's license. Driving record must satisfy school district insurance and other district and state requirements.
