Job Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Director School Business Advisory Services and/or designees, perform a variety of complex fiscal and accounting duties related to an assigned area of County-wide responsibility related to monitoring school districts’ financial activity such as payroll processes, pension reporting, various school district payment review and audit, general ledger accounting and inter-fund activities, and attendance; ensure the appropriate reporting of funds including deposits and other federal and state revenues; process and audit of payroll data and analyze reporting of retirement transactions for CalSTRS and CalPERS; perform select financial and data monitoring, analysis and reporting; establish relations and collaborative processes with others to ensure timely and accurate fiscal reporting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: Associate degree in accounting or related field and three years responsible accounting experience. At least two years of responsible California School Accounting experience in the area of budget development and control or financial reporting is preferred. Advanced techniques in the use of computerized spreadsheets are required. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California driver’s license.
