Full credit for up to 5 years of experience given. 215 Work Year Calendar Effective January 2024, District CAP for health benefits is $786.54 and employer pays 100% dental and vision premiums. Under direction of the Superintendent, administers student wellness, multi-tiered system of support and student services. Assists the Superintendent with Human Resources and serves as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet, providing leadership in support of District Goals, Governing Board Policies, and the Local Control and Accountability Plan.

Director of Administrative Services
- Full time – 40 hours a week, 215 days a year

Job Description: Under direction of the Superintendent, administers student wellness, multi-tiered system of support and student services. Assists the Superintendent with Human Resources and serves as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet, providing leadership in support of District Goals, Governing Board Policies, and the Local Control and Accountability Plan.
Responsibilities:
Human Resources
- Assist the Superintendent and Chief Business Official in decisions regarding staffing and position control
- Coordinate and review classified and certificated staff evaluations, supporting district and site administrators
- Work with the Human Resources Technician to develop and implement Human Resources systems
- Oversee procedures for substitutes and recruitment of substitutes
- Coordinate mandated reporter training and other state required trainings for all staff
- Provide administrative training and support about best practices for Human Resources
- Attend County meetings in Human Resources
- Ensure compliance with annual employee notifications
- Maintain familiarity and fluency in updated Human Resources laws and regulations
- Support all District labor relations and maintain compliance with collective bargaining agreements
- Recruit new employees and oversee onboarding of new employees
- Oversee proper credentialing of certificated staff
- Implement the Workplace Violence Prevention Plan
- Engage and manage interactive process with employees when necessary
- Serve as the District’s Uniform Complaint Officer
- Serve as the District’s Title IX Coordinator
- Manage the implementation of the District complaint procedures and investigate complaints as needed
Student Wellness
- Direct and oversee the District’s student wellness program, including counseling and the wellness center, to ensure evidence based practices and positive student outcomes
- Support and provide professional development for counseling staff
- Coordinate suicide prevention initiatives, including training, for staff and students and ensure resources are available for families
- Supervise and evaluate the District nurse
- Select, administer and report findings of climate surveys
- Support initiatives in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
Multiple Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
- Coordinate schoolwide positive behavior support and intervention teams, including self assessments and technical assistance
- Support site administrators in restorative discipline
- Collaborate on new initiatives relative to MTSS for academic, behavioral and social emotional supports
- Support parent education opportunities with input from families and staff, partnering with community agencies and individuals
General Responsibilities
- Develop and revise board policies and administrative regulations
- Work collaboratively with the Cabinet and Leadership Team
- Attend Governing Board Meetings and Committee Meetings and present on relevant topics
- Effectively manage complaints
- Visit school sites regularly

Qualifications:
- Knowledge of State and Federal Policies and laws related to Human Resources and Student Services, collective Bargaining strategies, methods, and techniques, student development, discipline, assessment, behavioral management and parent relations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in communication with students, parents, and employees, communicate effectively and professionally in writing and speaking, and demonstrate leadership skills.
- Work with individuals of all abilities and backgrounds. Demonstrate expertise in teaching methods, instructional strategies, and effective instructional coaching. Effectively facilitate small and large group meetings, training, and presentations.
- Plan and provide quality professional development experiences in a variety of subjects and/or topics.
- Understand and effectively implement department budgets.
- Proficiency with all computer based staff and student information systems.
Education and Experience:
- Valid California Administrative Services Credential.
- M.A. or M.S. and preference of five years of experience in an administrative position demonstrating leadership in areas including, but not limited to; human resources, student services, and educational services.
- Valid California Administrative Services Credential.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development experiences.
