Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Special Education, this individual will provide assistance to the teacher in achieving educational objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole. The instructional aide assists the teacher in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.

Minimum Qualifications: • High school education or equivalent and • Completion of at least two years of study at an institution of higher education or • Possession of an associate’s degree or higher or • Meet a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in, instructing reading, writing, mathematics or • Paraprofessional certificate
