About the Employer

We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the principal, perform a variety of library duties in the acquisition, circulation, maintenance, processing and distribution of books and instructional materials at an assigned elementary school site; assist students and teachers in the selection, location and use of library materials and equipment.

Unit: CSEA Current Vacancies: 1 (4 hour position) Work Hours/ Work Years: 4 to 8 hours per day / 10 Months (180 Days) CSEA Salary Range 126: Step A $27.11, Step B $28.48, Step C $29.93, Step D $31.44, Step E $33.03, Step F $34.71 Promotional/Open: The promotional group as well as the public may apply. The promotional side of the eligibility list shall take precedence when certifying eligibles. DEADLINE TO APPLY: MONDAY, JULY 15, 2024 by 4:30 PM. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and three years clerical or library experience including work with computer operations and library circulation functions.

SELECTION & EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of an application, supplemental questions and resume screening for completeness and qualifications. A written exam (weighted 40%) and an oral interview exam (weighted 60%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on each portion of the exams to move forward in the process. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores.
