QUALIFICATIONS: Academic Training and Credentials: Master’s Degree. Valid appropriate California Administrative Credential authorizing service as a middle school assistant principal. Experience: Strong background with a record of successful experience as a teacher; ability to provide leadership in standards-based curriculum and instruction to the staff at the middle school level. Other Professional Qualifications: Ability to involve, establish rapport and work effectively with middle school teachers, students, counselors, parents and classified personnel; effective communication skills, both verbal and written; sound organizational and planning ability; knowledge of, and involvement with effective instructional programs.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Directly responsible to the middle school principal. Assists the principal in areas of student supervision, attendance, discipline, community relations, school plant management, supervision, evaluation of employees, and other functions as assigned. Assumes the role of principal in his/her absence.
