Must hold a clear multiple subject credential or a clear single subject teaching credential. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING: • Bachelor degree from an accredited university. • Possession of a valid California teaching credential. • English Learner certification. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience as a teacher in a public-school setting for at least 3 years. DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE: • Voluntary or paid leadership experience. • Experience in conducting professional development for educators. • Experience in planning, implementing and / or managing educational programs.

          Major Job Duties: • Requires demonstration of strong instructional pedagogy, collaborative, teaching, coaching, and leadership skills to support student programming and work in a team setting; problem solving skills to support student success; service-related people skills; verbal and written communication skills; organizational skills to balance demands of a multi-tasking position; data analysis and analytic skills to evaluate and recommend changes in instructional programming; operational skills in office equipment and technological instructional devices; technology skills in communication, knowledge of student data management, and analysis, and reporting, and other school requirements. • Instructional Specialists are focused on providing practical strategies and best practices for increasing student engagement and learning. They will demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to student, teacher and school needs and engage in collaborative conversations to help refine the instructional program and identify supports. • Provides direct support on the use of the base curriculum and instructional techniques utilizing universal design for learning, flexible grouping and differentiated learning opportunities with the focus of supporting teaching and learning. • Works with teachers both one-on-one and in small groups to provide student support, guidance, and resources as needed. • Assist in the development of tiered supports tailored to the needs of the learner in the general education classroom setting. • Participate in collaborative conversations with teachers and grade level teams regarding analysis of student data and student placement into tiered intervention programs, progress monitoring and implementation with the goal of improving teacher practices and students learning. • Share expertise with staff on the design, implementation, and analysis of student assessments (comprehensive assessment system) to guide instruction and improve school program and student learning. • Utilize lesson study format to collaboratively identify areas teachers may want to develop their practices through coaching and modeling.
