Job Summary

• Patrols hallways, restrooms and other areas in and about a school campus. • Checks for unauthorized persons on school grounds, escorts them off campus, or to designated areas within campus, and is on the alert for disorderly conduct by students; tactfully and diplomatically deals with potential misconduct by students; reports incidents that are beyond designated authority to appropriate assistant principal. • Confers with school administrators on activities relating to the supervision of students in and about the assigned high school campus. • Provides a role model for students. • Facilitates the flow of students, staff, and the public utilizing the campus.

• 12 years education • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions • Previous experience involved in working with young people desired • Knowledge of general student behavior • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with high school students and members of the public from diverse cultural backgrounds on a variety of matters • Ability to effectively guide and direct the activities of high school students and members of the public in and about a high school campus. • Ability to work independently • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with school administrators, faculty, students, staff, and members of the public
