JOB SUMMARY The St. Helena Unified School District (SHUSD) Board of Education is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking leader to serve as the next Superintendent. A world away from the pace and congestion of larger cities, St. Helena offers an array of resources, programs and opportunities to its 1,200 TK-12 students. Nestled in the heart of the Napa Valley, the District’s award-winning schools serve the communities of St. Helena, Rutherford, and Oakville. LEADERSHIP PROFILE St. Helena Unified School District desires a Superintendent with an unwavering ability to: • Serve as the face of the district and wear many hats. • Actively contribute to the overall well-being and success of students and staff. • Work hand-in-hand with principals and cabinet to move the district forward. • Build collective ownership and accountability around districtwide goals and outcomes. • Make decisions, even when they may be unpopular. • Listen to/consider multiple perspectives. • Engage with diverse learners, families and broader community. • Act as a community convener. • Demonstrate authenticity and a sense of caring. • Participate as an active member of the governance team. .QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED EXPERIENCE • A skilled educational leader with a proven track record of success in a TK-12 setting • Minimum of 3-5 years in a cabinet level role • Site administrative experience required • Working knowledge of instruction, business, and human resource functions • Bilingual preferred
