BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Translate and interpret from documents and conversations for District students, personnel and parents.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Correct oral and written usage of English and other designated language(s).
Testing and assessment materials, policies and procedures.
Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities.
Basic record-keeping techniques.
Operation of office machines including computer equipment and specified software.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Technical aspects of field of specialty.
Oral and written communication skills.
ABILITY TO:
Provide accurate testing of applicants for positions in bilingual instructional programs.
Test and enroll students.
Read, write, translate and interpret English and designated other language(s).
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Work independently with little direction.
Determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma or equivalent and increasingly responsible experience in foreign language(s) including translating and interpretation experience.
