Job Summary

Under the direction of a Speech and Language Pathologist, the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant provides direct speech and language therapy services to students in classrooms at various school site locations. This position will assist the Speech Pathologist on a day-to-day basis and will perform services to students as outlined in the treatment plans. This position will also assist with departmental operations such as scheduling appointments, record keeping, and preparing therapy materials and/or equipment for classroom use and therapy activities.

• High School diploma or its equivalent. • Possession of a valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Certificate of Registration issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board. • One (1) year experience providing speech and language therapy in a clinical or educational setting.

      Location: TBD Work Schedule: 8.0 hrs./day, 5.0 days/week, 9.5 mos./year Shift: TBD Start Date: August 13, 2024 Sick leave and vacation are earned on a prorated basis at a rate of one day per month. California School Employees Association Agreement Article VI, 6.1.3 states: "Voluntary transfer/promotion requests by an employee for an opening shall be given prior consideration over a new employee." Article VI, 6.3.2 states: "When a new position is created or an existing position becomes vacant, the District shall first offer the opportunity to transfer or to seek promotion to bargaining unit employees." Applicants may be rejected on the basis of an incomplete application or failure to meet the posted qualifications.
