Job Summary

Job Summary

The Student Services Special Education Administrator is responsible for the management of San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools’ (SBCSS) student support services for Fee-for-Service Special Education programs; develops and implements goals, procedures and service models that are in line with the three county Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPA’s), West End SELPA, East Valley SELPA, and Desert Mountain SELPA California Association of Health and Education Linked Professions (CAHELP); evaluates and formulates branch priorities; recommends branch operation strategies and collaborates with SBCSS Internal Business Department; oversees curriculum and instruction development, oversees State and local assessments; implements program technology plan; directs California Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Monitoring and Accountability.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Refer to Job Description attachment for additional information.) • Supports the Assistant Superintendent in the operations of Fee-for-Service Special Education programs; • Establishes goals, priorities, and systems for service-oriented, student-focused programs in collaboration with Area Directors, SELPA Administrators, Assistant Superintendents, and other educational partners; • Oversees the implementation and maintenance of student programs and services; • Develops service delivery strategies for Student Services programs; • Coordinates and supports administrators in the 3 regions and programs to provide consistency of standards; • Collaborates with San Bernardino County SELPAs’ and meetings; • Collaborates with Internal Business for fee-for-service budgets, policies, procedures, and staffing issues; • Collaborates with school and community organizations; • Oversees grants applicable to Student Services; • Performs related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Valid California Clear Education Specialist Moderate/Severe Disabilities Teaching credential; • Valid California Clear Administrative Services credential; • Master’s degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution; • Five (5) years of administrative experience at a county, regional or district level in special education.
