Requirements / Qualifications

Important Notice: Due to a recent influx of applicants, CUSD will be reopening this posting on Dec. 1st, while prioritizing fully credentialed applicants. Requirements: ALL requirements MUST be in place BEFORE applying. DO NOT APPLY until items 1-4 (below) are in place AND on file, with attachments ready to upload. Reminder: All applications undergo remote review so please ensure that 'all' attachments are included BEFORE submitting. Completion: ALL 'SECTIONS' MUST be completed - IN PARTICULAR the 'WORK EXPERIENCE' section, as a detailed resume will NOT be accepted in lieu of that information. 1. MUST hold a current California Teaching Credential OR a 30 Day Sub Emergency Permit with 'teaching experience'. (Direct all Credentialing questions to the San Diego County of Ed or the CTC directly.) 2. Resume (including recent 'teaching' experience & classroom management) 3. Two 'SIGNED' Letters of Recommendation pertaining to your 'teaching background' and 'classroom experience', (preferable within the last 12-24 months). Each LOR must include the person's contact information as well. (Do NOT submit 'unsigned' LOR's, as they will NOT be accepted.) 4. MUST have Fingerprints on file already for 'employment' purposes', (not just for a certificate of clearance), through the San Diego County Office of Education's 'Fingerprint Clearinghouse' database. (For additional information visit SDCOE Livescan Appointment Page link: https://www.sdcoe.net/administrative-services/human-resources/fingerprinting.) 5. The first 3 requirements MUST be attached to your EdJoin application to be considered. Do not include 'any' additional documents other than notated. >APPLICATIONS THAT ARE 'INCOMPLETE' OR 'MISSING ATTACHMENTS' WILL BE SCREENED OUT AND NOT CONSIDERED. >>Due to an influx of applicants over the summer, and limited progress, we are prioritizing to address those applications already received, before considering new ones.

Additional Certifications to be collected at a later date: >Current TB Test must be available (valid for 4 years). We do not accept risk assessments. >JPA Trainings will be required for both Mandatory Reporter and Sexual Harassment through CUSD, or proof of course completions taken elsewhere. (If you currently have certifications available from another District those will be accepted.) >Substitute Teachers must complete at least 'one assignment every 90 days' in order to remain 'active'. If you do not complete a minimum of one assignment in a 90 day period, you will be removed from the substitute teacher pool.
