With schools dating back to the 1870s, the award-winning Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) is now the 16th largest school district in California. RUSD educates nearly 42,000 students across 50 schools in Riverside. The District serves a large portion of Riverside as well as the unincorporated areas of Highgrove and Woodcrest. Under the direction of the Director, Pupil Services/Special Education Local Plan Area; participate in routine Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team meetings, as the Administrator/Designee to meet the unique needs of individuals with exceptional needs.


REPRESENTAIVE DUTIES:
  • Serve as the administrative designee of the IEP Team, as needed.
  • Represent the school district with the authority to make decisions on behalf of the school district and commit its resources, and be able to ensure that services will be provided as are set forth in the IEP.
  • Facilitate the development of a legally defensible IEP in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Prepare for IEP meetings by analyzing documentation and reports of students, conducting student observations, and participating in conversations with stakeholders.
  • Assist teachers and case carriers, as needed, to schedule meetings and prepare draft individualized programs for pupils.
  • Provide information to the team regarding IEP processes and resources available for pupils.
  • Facilitate the review of program/pupil progress and recommend program revisions.
  • Establish sound academic plans in collaboration with all site personnel who will be involved in its implementation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent
  • Administrative experience preferred
  • Any combination equivalent to: professional development and demonstrated knowledge of special education programs, requirements and procedures and demonstrated ability to work well with staff, pupils, parents, and teachers.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • California Credential with English Learner Authorizations, Clinical Services Credential, Health Services Credential or School Psychologist Credential
  • Administrative Services credential
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Valid California Driver’s License
