Job Summary

Our Therapeutic Elective Program is dedicated to supporting students in maintaining consistent access to therapeutic interventions, ensuring they can fully engage in both general and specialized instructional environments. Our program, serving 9th through 12th grade students within the San Mateo Union High School District who receive special education services, features a collaborative team including an Education Specialist, Therapist, and Paraprofessional. This multidisciplinary approach fosters a supportive and therapeutic learning environment. As an internal TEC therapist, you will play a crucial role in establishing meaningful relationships, providing seamless continuity of care across the classroom, school site, and district. Working within one of our school site therapeutic programs, your responsibilities will include delivering mental health services to students enrolled in the program. This encompasses individual counseling, group counseling, milieu support, and crisis intervention, all conducted during regular school hours. Additionally, you will offer family support through parent education and consultation, contributing to the holistic well-being of the students and their families.

> Cover Letter > Resume > Master’s Degree or higher in counseling, psychology, clinical social work, or a closely related field > At least one of the following: - Valid Marriage Family Therapist (MFT) or Intern with BBS number (MFTI) - Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Intern with BBS number (CSWI) > Bilingual Spanish speaking is preferred.
