We have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Temporary Library Science Instructor (Librarian) located at our campus in Menifee, CA. This is a full-time temporary non-teaching academic position. An ideal candidate will be skilled in generating student engagement in learning and creating a welcoming and equity-based learning environment. Faculty librarians are responsible for the planning, organization and coordination of the District Libraries. They ensure the quality of the library and its collections effectively meet the needs of the college community. Librarians are expected to participate in college governance through Academic Senate appointments to standing councils, committees, and/or a variety of task forces. Work assignments may include a mixture of day, evening, and multi-campus hours.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Master's degree in library science or library and information science; (attach transcript) OR 2. The equivalent; AND 3. Have taught in the discipline or provided service in the area during the last three (3) semesters; AND 4. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, and photograph***

2. Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to use digital resources (such as LibGuides, LibChat), library automation systems, and other relevant technology in a library environment
3. Demonstrated ability to develop and conduct library instruction sessions and workshops, in person and online
4. Experience in developing and implementing outreach activities which promote library resources and services
5. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a diverse environment that encourages positive race and gender-consciousness and embraces human difference
6. Evidence of a strong commitment to innovation and currency in Library Science
