Job Summary
The Winston School, a small independent 6-12 grade school in North San Diego County seeks a Manager or Director of Special Education for Middle and High School students with learning differences. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of managerial experience in special education, with additional experience working directly with mild/moderate students in grades 6-12 students who require accommodations and differentiated instruction. The Manager/Director of Special Education's primary responsibilities are: (1) Special education program management; (2) Plan, implement and supervise Special Education mild/moderate education programs and all related student support services; (3) Ensure full compliance of School’s special education program including all current laws, policies and regulations; (4) collaboratively work towards the Mission of The Winston School. Duties will include but are not limited to attending IEP meetings, coordinating Case Management, participation on the leadership team, supporting students, and working in a team environment that requires flexibility and creativity.
