Job Summary
Under the supervision of the site principal or designee, the CTE Digital Media/Film Teacher plans and implements learning activities that focuses on both the technical skills and organizational and managerial knowledge necessary to bring arts, media and entertainment to the public. The CTE Digital Media/Film Teacher is responsible in providing instruction to students, planning to meet the needs of the entire group as well as individual students. The teacher shall network with the local job industry and postsecondary institutions to establish job certification pathways. The CTE Digital Media/Film Teacher will create learning experiences that develop students’ employability skills and reinforce academic skills through rigorous curricula. The teacher will also handle all responsibilities of developing work-based learning experiences and creating partnerships with the industry sector. It is highly desirable for the CTE Digital Media/Film Teacher to facilitate opportunities for students to showcase their skills, participate in contests, competitions, scholarship opportunities, regional arts programs and other outside the class events that include school and district functions. Some might take place on the weekends or after-school hours. Utilizing Digital Media students, the CTE Digital Media/Film Teacher will facilitate and implement the morning announcements on a weekly basis; this requires coordination with site administration and coordination and collaboration with school site programs and calendars.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED Credential: Hold, or be eligible for a California Career Technical Education (CTE) Credential a. 3-yr Preliminary or 5-yr Clear Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Credential b. Hold, or be eligible for, authorization to teach English Learners Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. a. An associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree is preferred. Work Experience: Verified three (3) years of related work experience or one (1) year of related work experience and 48 semester hours of related postsecondary vocational training.
