Job Summary
The essential duties for the Cafeteria Worker include: • Assists the kitchen by preparing fruits. Vegetables, breakfast, lunch, and other foods. • Sets up and serves hot food, cold food, beverages, and other food at serving lines in portions following the meal pattern requirements for the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs. • Knowledge of Point of Sale system. • Sets up serving trays with items such as condiments, straws, and milk for serving lines. • Maintains assigned work areas and serving counters in a clean, neat, orderly, and sanitary condition, and disposes of garbage. • Assists in ordering, cleaning, storing cafeteria food and non-food supplies. • Washes pots, pans, and other equipment and maintains kitchen preparation areas in a clean and sanitary environment. • Cleans and sanitizes tables, chairs, and other surfaces in cafeteria. • Operates and maintains food service equipment. • Ensures all food is served and stored in compliance with safety and sanitary regulations per local and state health codes. • Other duties as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager or Superintendent/Principal.
