The Leuzinger High School Culinary Careers Academy (CCA) is seeking a Chef/Career Technical Education teacher in the field of Hospitality/Food Services. The Culinary Careers Academy is a small learning community centered on food systems, exploration, and preparation with a primary focus on the restaurant industry. This position extends beyond the classroom into running a student-led café, competition teams, and/or catering business. Responsibilities and roles will be shared with two other chefs/culinary instructors. Courses will be chosen from Culinary Fundamentals, Culinary Arts I, Culinary Arts II, Advanced Culinary & Restaurant Management, and Culinary Practicum based on scheduling and staffing match. This position involves course instruction as well as multiple professional responsibilities beyond the classroom including supporting Leu’s Café & Catering and optional competitions through the CA Restaurant Association (CRA) and the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-Cap).
Requirements / Qualifications
3+ years professional experience in the restaurant industry CTE: Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation credential OR CTE credential eligibility (Teacher must enroll in CTE courses and commit to credential completion to be considered for employment)
Copy/Screenshot of Career Technical Education (CTE): Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation Credential from the CTC website (or proof of eligibility for the CTE credential) English Learner Authorization (or eligibility for an Emergency CLAD or English Learner Waiver) Copy of CBEST test result or equivalent (or acknowledgement to pass the CBEST in one year) Copy of Official Transcripts Letter of Introduction/Cover Letter Resume Minimum of 3 Letters of Recommendation References required WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REOPEN, READVERTISE, DELAY, OR CANCEL FILLING THIS POSITION
