The AP Psychology & Social Studies classroom teacher is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages student to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the principal. Compensation is determined by higher education units and previous experience between the range of $84,455 to $120,617 for this full-time school-year position. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES - Actively support the Catholic, Holy Cross mission of the school in the classroom and throughout school programs - Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and are in accordance with school standards - Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities - Provide a variety of instructional strategies and resources to address student learners - Observe and evaluate student performance and development - Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction - Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies - Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments - Provide appropriate feedback on student work in a timely manner - Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development - Collaborate with colleagues in developing common curriculum and assessments - Willing to work outside the normal schedule periodically in collaboration with colleagues - Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school Further details can be found on the application website.
