TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Current California RN or LVN License

-Valid California Career Technical Education Credential or Adult Ed Credential Authorizing Instruction in the Nursing Field, or Meets Credential Requirements to Apply

-Minimum of 2 years nursing experience. One of the 2 years must be as a licensed nurse providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care, hospice care, or other long-term setting

-Qualify and apply for the California Department of Public Health CDPH 279 form and receive approval before beginning assignment.

JOB GOAL:

- Participate in the planning, organizing, and implementation of the Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP). Provide Theory and Clinical Instruction to Students Required to Pass the National Nurse Assistant Assessment Program (NNAAP) exam. Part-Time/ Days or Evenings

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to):

-Work under the supervision of the RN Program Director and District/School Administrator

-Working knowledge of State and Federal regulations governing the Nurse Assistant Training Program

-Maintain the program in compliance with Title 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Chapter IV, California Health and Safety Title XXII, section 71829, CDE Title V, and other regulatory agencies.

-Ability to provide both theory and clinical instruction to students required to successfully pass the NNAAP exam.

-Develop, update, and implement NATP course syllabus/handbook, that reflects NATP Policies, Procedures and Forms
