Description of Duties:

Passionate and experienced dance instructor sought to spearhead the development of a comprehensive multi-level dance curriculum spanning two campuses. This full-time role (1.0) is divided between Intermediate (0.4) and High School (0.6) levels, encompassing foundational to advanced classes. The ideal candidate will possess expertise across diverse dance styles, a talent for engaging and motivating students of varying ages, and exceptional teaching abilities. The entry-level course will introduce students to various dance genres, while intermediate and advanced courses will progressively enhance technical proficiency and explore advanced concepts and choreography across different dance styles.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in dance, performing arts, education, or a related field is preferred. Experience teaching dance at the middle and/or high school levels, with a proven track record of student success and achievement. 
  • Experience in Musical Theatre, Color Guard, and Choral Movement. Single Subject Credential in Dance ( PE credential accepted if before January 1, 2022).
  • CBEST transcript if newly hired in the State of California or if no public school employment within the last 39 calendar months in a California public school.
  • CLAD/BCLAD Authorization (or embedded in credential) required.


Salary:
Appropriate placement on Teachers' Salary Schedule. Credit may be given for the immediate preceding nine years of experience prior to being hired for verified teaching expereience requiring a teaching credential.
