Under general supervision, performs a variety of difficult and complex technical accounting duties in the preparation, maintenance, and processing of accounting, budgeting, payroll, and related financial transactions; maintains and audits financial accounts and records and assists in the preparation of financial reports, summaries, and analyses. ABILITIES: Requires the ability to perform the duties of the position efficiently and effectively, under general supervision. Must be able to learn, understand and apply District rules, regulations and policies. Requires the ability to operate standard office machines and equipment. Must be able to maintain records and prepare reports. Requires the ability to communicate with students, other employees and the public in a manner which reflects positively on the department and District. PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Requires sufficient arm, hand and finger dexterity in order to operate a keyboard, typewriter (50 wpm) and other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to recognize words, letters and number; speech and hearing ability to carry on conversations in person and over the phone. Ability to reach and pull materials from files and shelves. Ability to lift heavy objects (less than 30 lbs.) on an intermittent basis. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: None. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required. Experience in payroll, HR, accounts payable, accounts receivable.
