Job Summary
The Personnel Commission announces an OPEN and PROMOTIONAL recruitment. This recruitment will result in the establishment of one integrated eligibility list. Promotional candidates will have seniority points added to final passing scores (.25 of a point for every year of classified service up to a maximum of 5 points). This list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will be active for one year or until cancelled. There is currently ONE positions open in the district t office, Classified Human Resources. This is an 8 hour/day, 12 month position. Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, perform specialized clerical work in support of the personnel program; coordinate the recruitment process; process personnel for employment; maintain personnel files, records, and reports; and maintain a high level of sensitivity to confidential information.
Requirements / Qualifications
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade; two years of varied clerical or office work, preferably including contact with the public; or any combination of training and/or experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. Knowledge of Collective bargaining agreements, California Education Code and basic practices of the Merit System. Principles and techniques used in the recruitment and selection process. Interpersonal and customer services skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Correct English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition. Modern office methods, procedures, and equipment. Researching, record keeping and report preparation skills. Operation of computer and assigned software. Ability to Perform a variety of clerical work involving use of independent judgment and requiring accuracy and speed. Operate standard office equipment. Make arithmetical calculations with accuracy and speed. Communicate effectively both written and orally to staff and the public. Compose and distribute technical material to school sites, staff, and candidates. Display practical judgement and decision making when evaluating recruitment materials, reports and miscellaneous personnel materials. Understand and carry out recruitment and staffing procedures. Key stroke accurately at a rate equivalent to industry standards of 45 words per minute.
