Job Summary

Under the direction of the Program Supervisors and Programs Director, the incumbent performs duties in an enrichment program at schools in the Downey Unified School District (DUSD). The Program Coordinator (PC) oversees multiple program sites by providing site visits and feedback to Site Coordinators, and by coaching staff. In addition, Program Coordinators are responsible for the interviewing, onboarding, evaluating, and scheduling of staff. Starting salary: $26.00/hour (Full-time, non-exempt position) Medical, Dental, Vision, Chiropractic and other benefits are provided to full time employees.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education: • At least 60 units minimum of higher education OR possession of an Associate's or higher-level degree in the field of education or related field of study. • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in education is highly preferred. • Applicants must provide copies of their college/university transcripts (unofficial are acceptable) and/or degree. Experience: • At least four (4) years of experience working with children in an educational organized setting or other organized setting OR 4 years of experience working with children in an instructional, teaching, or closely related capacity • At least three (3) years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity • Extensive paid or unpaid volunteer experience working with children may be considered Proficiency In: • Before and After School Program practices, policies, and procedures • District rules, policies, and regulations • Curriculum-based standards • Supervisory and hiring practices • Grants administration and budgeting techniques • Program compliance requirements • Health and safety standards and requirements • Record keeping and management systems and evaluation requirements • Training & evaluation techniques • Standard office software applications, including word processing, Clearances: Offers of employment are contingent upon successful clearance of the following: • Fingerprinting and Background Check (DOJ & FBI) • TB Test Certificates: The following certifications must be obtained from a recognized agency prior to employment and must be maintained throughout employment in the position. • CPR (Infant, Child and Adult) Certificate • First Aid Certificate • Mandated Reporter Certificate

Licenses:

Must have a valid California class C driver's license or the ability to use an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
