Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent, Business Services, and/or Designee, coordinates and supervises all custodial operations, activities, and personnel to ensure the proper cleaning and maintenance of assigned buildings and facilities.

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Any combination equivalent to one year certificate from college or technical school or other training sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above. Experience: At least four years of increasingly responsible custodial or building service experience, including at least one year in a lead or supervisory capacity.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession and maintenance of a valid California Driver's License. A dependable mode of personal motorized transportation and Insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier. A current resume and Letter of recommendation are required. A letter of recommendation from your current supervisor is desired.

THE EXAMINATION: The examination process will consist of: (1) a written examination of technical knowledge, skills and abilities that may cover any subject matter appropriate to the duties of the position. This portion is weighted 50% of the test and candidates must achieve a weighted passing score; (2) an oral examination of personal qualifications, education, experience, training and personal suitability for this position will be evaluated by appearance before a Panel Interview Committee. This portion is weighted 50% of the test and candidates must achieve a weighted passing score. Applicants must attain a passing score on each part of the examination in order to be placed on the eligibility list. Should a large number of candidates pass the written exam, a higher passing score than 70% may be required to progress. Candidates meeting the minimum requirements for the position will be notified by email of the examination date and time.
