Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, Facilities Planning, Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation or designee, perform advanced-level work to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, balance, and perform analysis on all types of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) equipment systems, designs, and applications
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school; and three (3) years experience as a journeyman heating and air conditioning mechanic. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession and maintenance of a valid California Driver's License EPA Technician Certificate Insurability by the District’s insurance carrier.
EXAMINATION: The examination process will consist of (1) a written examination of technical knowledge, skills, and abilities that may cover any subject matter appropriate to the duties of the position. This portion is weighted 50% of the test and candidates must achieve a weighted passing score; (2) an oral examination of personal qualifications, education, experience, training and personal suitability for this position will be evaluated by appearance before a Panel Interview Committee. This portion is weighted 50% of the test and candidates must achieve a weighted passing score. Applicants must attain a passing score on each part of the examination in order to be placed on the eligibility list.
