Job Summary

Job Summary

To assist in providing students and parents with psychological and/or counseling services. Participation in agency goals to pursue early intervention and implementation of a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for academic, behavioral, social/emotional needs at both school sites. Will work with TK-12th grade students. Reports to the Chief Student Services Officer and Lead School Psychologist RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 1. Assist in conducting individual evaluation and identification of learning, behavior, and/or adjustment challenges of children. 2. Assists in providing guidance and assistance to children with challenges in their learning, behavior, and/or adjustment to the educational setting. 3. Assists in developing appropriate individual and/or group programs of instruction and treatment for children with special needs as well as for children with special circumstances. 4. Assists in systematically reassessing children with special education needs as appropriate. 5. Assists in coordinating, communicating, and seeking consultation with community agencies as appropriate. 6. Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and members of the intervention team to support student needs and agency goals. 7. Participation in IEP meetings, Intervention Team Meetings and supports implementation of behavioral and/or social/emotional support plans. EDUCATION, LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS -Completion of all requirements of an academic program in the area of school psychology, with the exception of the internship. -Possession of a valid California driver’s license. -Prefer progress toward BCBA

WORK ENVIRONMENT Professional field supervision of the intern is provided by a credentialed school psychologist/licensed educational psychologist. Supervision hours are to be determined at the discretion of the supervisor. The charter school agency offers intern opportunities for professional development within our SELPA comparable to those provided to school psychologists and other members of the Intervention Team. Intern must come prepared to learn about Aspen’s school culture with regards to growth mindset, Second Step (social/emotional curriculum), restorative justice practices (Discipline that Restores), and participate in Charter organizational goals to introduce mindfulness strategies to students.
