Job Summary
: Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Education Services, the Audiologist will assess and monitor the auditory function/amplification used by hearing impaired pupils in special classrooms within the district. The Audiologist supports the identification, intervention, and education of GFSUD students with hearing loss. The Audiologist conducts audiological evaluations with infants, toddlers, and school-aged children; assesses and consults regarding auditory functioning and hearing technology (hearing aids, cochlear implants and hearing assistive technology) as applicable to the educational setting; educates and guides parents to intervention and educational resources; and collaborates and communicates with education and community professionals working with deaf and hard of hearing students in the county. Actual responsibilities may be defined according to the range of knowledge and skills and departmental needs.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Valid California State license in Audiology. • Valid Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential in Audiology • Minimum of two years full-time experience in providing case management, audiological services, in school setting preferred. • Valid California Driver’s license and personal car for use on district business
