Job Summary
FUNCTION: To work with students with mild/moderate disabilities in a small public school special classroom setting providing instruction, evaluation, and supervision for students with emotional disabilities. Collaboration with multidisciplinary team members, administrators and mental health professionals. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Pupil assessment and evaluation. 2. Apply appropriate learning and social-emotional growth theories for individuals with exceptional needs. 3. Write appropriate IEP goals and objectives for students on caseloads. 4. Provide consultative and coordinative services to regular and special education staff. 5. Plan and develop in-service training for aides, staff members and parents. 6. Design and implement an effective behavior management program. 7. Provide on-going training of paraprofessionals in the classroom to meet students’ needs. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Possession of the appropriate CTC credential authorizing services to students with Mild/Moderate Disabilities. Must possess a credential with an English Learner authorization. Ability to work with a multicultural population. Highly Qualified in one or more academic subject areas desirable.
