EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination equivalent to:
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Generally, the required knowledge and abilities will have been acquired during sufficient experience to acquire journey-level status as an HVAC mechanic plus two years experience beyond attainment of HVAC journey level status.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- A valid Class C Driver’s License and a driving record that meets the standards of the County Office of Education.
- A driving record which meets the County Office of Education's insurance requirements .
- Within 60 days of employment, employee must obtain the Environmental Protection Agency's required certification for handling refrigerants and related supplies and equipment.

THE POSITION
The Business, Facilities and Operations Division is now accepting applications for Mechanic, HVAC. To perform a variety of highly complex and skilled maintenance work in the installation, repair, regulation, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment and to perform highly skilled maintenance and repair work to other mechanical and electrical equipment as assigned. - The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a written exam, tentatively scheduled for March 18, 2024.
- Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination with subject matter experts, tentatively scheduled for March 27, 2024.
- Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list.
- Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities, tentatively scheduled for the week of April 1, 2024.
